Benefits of Spinach
Spinach is actually counted as one of the world’s healthiest vegetables. Known for being rich in both vitamins and minerals, spinach is also concentrated in health-promoting phytonutrients and flavonoids. Spinach is rich in both niacin and zinc, as well as protein, fiber, vitamins A, C, E and K, thiamin, vitamin B6, folate, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, copper, and manganese. Overall, spinach is a vegetable which should be included in the diet regularly for improved health.
The great thing about a smoothie recipe such as this one, is that if you do not enjoy the taste of spinach (or any other vegetable you may want to throw into the mix) you can easily hide it with the other ingredients. My personal favourites for masking tastes that you may not enjoy include: raw cacao, mixed berries, coffee, or tropical fruits (such as mango or pineapple) as these have strong flavours.
