Milk Thistle contains a group of flavonoids collectively called silymarin. It has been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years to detoxify the body and liver as it has strong antioxidant properties, countering the effect of over-indulgence of food and drink. The most commonly utilized part of Dandelion is the root, however the leaves are often eaten raw in salads or lightly brewed to make tea. Dandelions contain sesquiterpene lactones, phytochemical compounds that are unique to this plant.
