Cymbopogon flexuosus is an aromatic, evergreen, clump-forming perennial grass producing numerous, erect stems up to 3 metres tall from a short, thick rhizome. The plant is often cultivated, both in gardens and commercially, for the oil.

Directions
Combine a few drops of lemongrass oil with a carrier oil (such as jojoba or sweet almond). Once blended - it can be massaged into your skin.
Add 5 - 10 drops of lemongrass essential oil to your air diffuser or vaporiser.
Sprinkle a few drops of lemongrass essential oil onto a cloth or tissue to inhale it's aroma.
Precautions
Not safe for consumption. Lemongrass essential oil may irritate the skin and cause a rash. To minimize the risk of skin irritation, a person should avoid applying lemongrass essential oil to the skin if:
- they have allergies or skin conditions, such as eczema
- they have not diluted the oil first
- they have broken or damaged skin
To check before use, do a skin patch test on a small area of skin, then wait 24 hours to see if a reaction appears before applying the diluted oil more liberally.
Lemongrass essential oil can also cause dryness and stinging around the eyes, ears, mouth, and other mucous membranes, such as the genital area so it should not be added to a bath.
